A report from the NGO Workshop on Green Technologies and Networking

ARUWE and WECF organised a workshop on Green Technologies for 11 Ugandan NGOs, the 25-29 September 2017 in Kiboga, Uganda.  The aim of the 5 days workshop was to raise NGOs capacities to understand and engage in the promotion of green technologies towards the implementation of sustainable development goals (SDGs) as well as sharing own experiences and networking with other NGOs.

During this workshop, the following NGOs were engaged: Katosi WomenVERDESWAGENSSWARS, KAP, THP-UATUNAWADRHCFCECE and Kiboga NGO Forum. The workshop was also attended by representatives from the local leadership and community beneficiaries.

Women2030: Women’s leadership in the Agenda 2030

Rural women are a key constituency in assisting national government to achieve inclusive and gender equitable results of Agenda 2030. Rural women can be essential to the planning, implementing and monitoring of developed commitments, said Olga Djaneva, director ALGA.

Regional African Training before Climate Summit COP 22

Women Environmental Programme (WEP), convened a 2-day training for expert women Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Africa, from 4th-5th November 2016 in Marrakech, Morroco. The training was aimed at providing focused training to the expert women’s CSOs who will later share the lessons learnt with other CSOs at the national levels to enhance their capacity to monitor the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

The training was used to strategize on how to engage in the Twenty Second meeting of the Conference of Parties (COP22) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change that was holding in Marrakech.

Bangladesh Workshop for Women 2030- Gender Monitoring of SDGs

Women2030 Gender Training and CCRI workshop

The Women2030 gender training and CCRI workshop took place from the 28th and 29th of August in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Overall the CCRI aims to contribute to the implementation of the CBD’s 2011-2020 Strategic Plan and Aichi Targets by providing policy advice on effective and appropriate forms of support for community conservation. To do this, CCRI assessments are being undertaken with communities in 22 countries, 4 of which are in Eastern Europe and Central Asia—Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Other participants in this workshop came from Armenia, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine.

The Women2030 section of the program covered the #Women2030 ‘training of trainers’ skillshare, focusing on mainstream media, social media and activist photography.
