Women2030 Gender Training and CCRI workshop

The Women2030 gender training and CCRI workshop took place from the 28th and 29th of August in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

Overall the CCRI aims to contribute to the implementation of the CBD’s 2011-2020 Strategic Plan and Aichi Targets by providing policy advice on effective and appropriate forms of support for community conservation. To do this, CCRI assessments are being undertaken with communities in 22 countries, 4 of which are in Eastern Europe and Central Asia—Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Other participants in this workshop came from Armenia, the Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine.

The Women2030 section of the program covered the #Women2030 ‘training of trainers’ skillshare, focusing on mainstream media, social media and activist photography.

The meetings provided an opportunity to develop practical tools and methodologies aimed at promoting and strengthening the resilience of community conservation, and the empowerment of women in sustainable development policies. Sessions will focus on media strategies, fundraising, methods for advocacy and other crucial topics.⠀ ⠀

Global Forest Coalition: Throwback to our #women2030 meeting in Cancun, Mexico!

The regional Women2030 training in Latin America was held from 29 November to 1 December 2016. On the first day there was an introduction to the SGDs, gender and biodiversity, and to the Women2030 programme.⠀ ⠀

There were also sessions on how to include a gender perspective in the work and structure of non-governmental organisations and social movements, as well as a gender analysis of women’s and men’s access to natural resources and their roles and responsibilities in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.⠀ ⠀

We also had sessions focused on gender budgeting and media and communications training.⠀
