ABOUT US

The Women 2030 Programme is being implemented in countries across different regions of the world. It is constituted by a coalition of 4 women+ and gender network organisations collaborating to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a gender-equitable and climate-just way. The coalition is part of a year framework partnership agreement with the European Commission’s International Cooperation arm (DEVCO) called “Women 2030 CSOs implementing SDGs Agenda.”

Together for sustainable sanitation and water security worldwide!

Stockholm, 26-31 Aug 2018: WECF participated in the World Water Week 2018 to further support the worldwide implementation of SDG 6 United we can tackle the SDG 6 (water and sanitation for all) – the World Water Week (WWW) made an important contribution to this by expanding and strengthening networks and sharing knowledge and experiences. This year, WECF was again among the nearly 3,500 participants from about 135 countries. The WWW was themed "Water, Ecosystems and Human Development". It included numerous varied and exciting sessions (more than 200 lectures, workshops etc.) about sanitation. There were also many booths where we had the opportunity to inform ourselves and present the activities of our network. As in 2017, the proportion of women and men among the participants was almost balanced, which is a positive development for this rather technical sector. Verena Demmelbauer and Sascha Gabizon from WECF as well as council member Dr. Claudia Wendland and our partner Natasha Dokovska from Macedonia attended the WWW. Natasha Dokovska presented the activities of the Balkan-WaSH-network and WECF’s activities on “Water and Sanitation Safety Plans”. Applications open for Gender Just Climate Solutions Award 2018!

WECF and partners invite you to participate in the 4th annual Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards It’s that time of year again, WECF and the Women and Gender Constituency (WGC) are calling for applications to our 4th annual Gender Just Climate Solutions Awards. The Women and Gender Constituency invites you to participate in the 4th annual 'Gender-Just Climate Solutions' Awards! These awards aim to showcase real solutions for a more just, equal and healthy planet. Is your organisation working towards gender and climate justice? Then you can help us find our next award winners! All types of activist, grassroots and women-led organizations and groups working on issues related to climate change are encouraged to apply. Three winning award recipients will receive €2000 Euro, travel support to attend COP24 in Katowice, Poland, and mentorship opportunities - while runners-up will be showcased in a publication, online platform and awards ceremony.  We are looking forward to showcasing these solutions around the world! It is constituted by a coalition of 4 women+ and gender network organisations collaborating to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a gender-equitable and climate-just way. The coalition is part of a 5 year framework partnership agreement with the European Commission’s International Cooperation arm (DEVCO) called “Women 2030 CSOs implementing SDGs Agenda.”

#Women2030 supports the implementation of the Agenda 2030. With activities at international, regional, national, and grass-roots level, the coalition integrates many of the SDGs in its work. Particular focus is on Gender Equality (SDG 5); Universal access to Water and Sanitation (#SDG6); Sustainable Energy (#SDG7); Decent Work (#SDG8); Sustainable Production and Consumption (#SDG12); Climate Action (#SDG13); Conserving Forests and Biodiversity (#SDG15).
